In the presence of Mr/Ashraf Sobhi –Minister of Youth and Sports-, Mr. Mohamed El-Atraby –Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Misr- signed contracts for Banque Misr sponsorship of the Egyptian Tennis Union, and the sponsorship of three promising female tennis players with Mr. Ismail El-Shafi –President of the Egyptian Tennis Union-, on Tuesday, 28/June/2022. A group of members of the Board of Directors of Sports Fund attended the signing. The two sponsorship contracts aim to contribute to supporting tennis and sponsoring the distinguished players in the game as one of the Olympic Games. This comes from the Banque Misr Keenness to support Egyptian sports by supporting promising players who strive to raise the name of Egypt in regional and international tournaments and forums.
It is worth noting that Banque Misr has sponsored the Egyptian Tennis Union for the third year in a row. That is within the framework of the pioneering role that the bank plays in supporting Egyptian sports based on its social responsibility, given the great importance it represents for the Egyptian youth and the belief that progress is in the hand of the new generation. The field of youth and sports, and discovering talented athletes and taking care of them, is one of the main axes supported by the Bank due to the importance of practicing sports and the value of sports for the young people “ A healthy mind in a healthy body”. The Bank also sponsored three professional female tennis players to qualify them to participate in different tournaments locally and internationally. The players are/ Jermen Sharif, Laila Shoukri and Jana Hossam.
The bank has also recently announced the launch of the first charitable investment fund “The Egyptian Sports Fund”, which aims to support the renaissance of Egyptian sports and restore its position while placing it on the global sports map. This comes within the framework of an action plan developed in coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Olympic Committee. The fund plans to reach its main goal through a planned program at all levels to reach the highest levels of global sports excellence in coordination with the Olympic Committee, the relevant games unions and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
