Account Opening Guidelines and Procedures
For Egyptians Residing Abroad through the Embassies of the Arab Republic of Egypt

- Egyptians residing abroad can open accounts with Banque Misr through the “Open Your Account in Egypt” service by visiting the nearest Egyptian embassy. Applicants must sign the account opening form in the presence of an embassy representative and present a valid national ID card or passport for verification.
- The citizen must complete all required information on the account opening application form provided by the embassy — including personal details, email address, and mobile phone number — in the presence of the embassy representative, and sign the final page in the designated signature area.
- The applicant shall then pay the certification fees specified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates for attesting the application.
- Banque Misr will contact the customer via email or SMS to confirm the successful opening of the account.
- To obtain the account number, please follow the instructions sent to your registered email address or contact the international hotline at (+202) 19888.
*You may access all banking products and services available to individual customers through Banque Misr’s branch network across the Arab Republic of Egypt by visiting any branch, provided that you complete any additionalinformation and submit the documents required by the bank in accordance with applicable procedures.

Al Mongez Savings Account
A savings account in Egyptian pounds with a monthly return for new individual Egyptian customers. The account can be opened using only an identification document, without the need to provide supporting documents to prove income.
Features of the Al Mongez Savings Account:
- The account is opened free of charge with a minimum balance of EGP 100.

Account Terms and Conditions
- This account is available to new individual Egyptian customers aged 15 years and above.
- Daily and monthly transaction limits, as well as a maximum account balance, apply as follows:
- Maximum account balance: EGP 750,000
- Maximum daily transactions: EGP 90,000
- Maximum monthly transactions: EGP 300,000
(Transactions exceeding these limits will be automatically declined.)
- The daily and monthly transaction limits apply to all withdrawals, transfers, and debit transactions, except for automatic system-generated debits.
- Certificates of deposit and savings deposits purchased through the account are excluded from the daily and monthly debit limits but are counted toward the maximum account balance limit.
- The account may be used for all standard banking transactions within the limits specified above, except for the following:
- Request for Standing Instructions on the Account.
- Automatic account settlement operations by debiting or crediting the current account.
- Execution of loan, Murabaha, and credit card transactions.
- Collection of bills of exchange and post-dated checks drawn on the account.
- Customers may also request the issuance of a debit card by visiting any of the bank’s branches within the Arab Republic of Egypt, ensuring that the received card is activated via ATMs located in Egypt.
Al Mongez Current Account
The Al Mongez Current Account is a current account in Egyptian Pounds designed for individuals engaged in economic activities such as crafts, businesses, and freelance professions. It offers a wide range of benefits without requiring official documentation to prove the nature of the activity.

- Maximum daily and monthly transaction limits, as well as a maximum account balance, apply as follows:
- Maximum account balance: EGP 750,000
- Maximum daily transactions: EGP 90,000
- Maximum monthly transactions: EGP 300,000
(Transactions exceeding these limits will be automatically declined.)
- The daily and monthly transaction limits apply to the total value of all withdrawals, transfers, or debit transactions, except for debits automatically processed by the system.
- Certificates and deposits purchased through the account are excluded from the daily and monthly debit limits but are counted toward the maximum account balance limit.
- The account may be used to perform all standard banking transactions within the specified limits, except for the following:
- Requesting standing instructions on the account
- Automatic account coverage operations (debiting or crediting the account)
- Loan, Murabaha, and credit card transactions
- Customers may request the issuance of a debit card by visiting any of Banque Misr’s branches within the Arab Republic of Egypt, and must ensure the card is activated via ATMs within Egypt.
- When visiting Banque Misr branches, customers can enjoy access to all banking products and services available to individual clients, including the issuance of checkbooks, provided that any additional information or documents required by the bank are duly completed in accordance with applicable procedures.

Services Available to Customers Upon Visiting Banque Misr Branches within the Arab Republic of Egypt
Customers visiting Banque Misr branches across the Arab Republic of Egypt may access the full range of banking products and services available to individual clients within the bank’s branch network, including:
· Issuance of debit cards or checkbooks (subject to completion of any additional information or documentation required by the bank in accordance with applicable procedures).
· Removal of account transaction limits, allowing unlimited balances and transactions.
· Linking multiple savings accounts without restrictions on balance limits.
· Issuance of debit cards for accounts in Egyptian Pounds and US Dollars.
· Issuance of credit cards secured by savings accounts.
· Access to personal loans secured by savings accounts.
· Access to mortgage financing loans.
The Hawalty Account
The Hawalty Account (available in both Egyptian Pounds and US Dollars) provides an efficient mechanism for individuals to receive and manage incoming remittances or transfers originating from outside Egypt.
A key feature of this account is the option to issue an instant debit card for immediate cash withdrawals or point-of-sale purchases in local currency through the Bank's ATM network. Account holders also retain the flexibility to perform USD cash withdrawals directly within the branch at any time. Furthermore, the account offers comprehensive management capabilities via the Bank's electronic channels, including internet and mobile banking.
Account Specifications:
• Eligibility: The account is accessible to individuals aged 21 years and older.
• Availability: The account is offered in Egyptian Pounds and US Dollars across all Bank branch locations.
• Account opening is free of charge, with no minimum balance required to open the account.
• Incoming remittances and transfers are without any maximum limit.
• A debit card in Egyptian Pounds or US Dollars may be issued for the account.
• Foreign currency remittances are automatically exchanged into Egyptian Pounds at preferential rates and credited to the Hawalety Account, with the possibility of cash withdrawal through ATMs using debit cards, or directly from the branch for amounts exceeding the daily ATM cash withdrawal limit.
• Incoming US Dollar remittances to the Hawalety Account in US Dollars are automatically exchanged at preferential rates when withdrawing cash via debit cards, where withdrawals are made in local currency. Cash withdrawal in US Dollars is also available at the branch upon request.
• Free subscription to BM Online Internet and Mobile Banking services, enabling balance inquiries and transfers between accounts within Banque Misr at any time.
Super Cash Savings Account – Monthly – Egyptian Pound
The Banque Misr Super Cash Savings Account enables customers to enjoy a competitive interest rate credited monthly to the account.
