Banque Misr receives TRAILBLAZING TELCO ACQUIRER – MENA Award for fastest growing acquirer in Ecommerce for Mobile Network Operators in the Middle East from Mastercard International. Mr. Ihab Dorra, Chief Consumer and Retail Payments Officer at Banque Misr, received the award during the activities of the Mastercard EDGE 2022 conference, which was held in Dubai on October 12, 2022, by MasterCard International. The conference was attended by a distinguished group of leaders of banks and Fintech companies in the Middle East, where These awards are obtained according to a number of technical criteria through which performance is analyzed by a selection of specialized experts. As the bank has provided the latest digital acquiring services to major mobile network companies in Egypt and the Middle East, such as digital payment services through the Internet and digital payment points in branches, in addition to the service of charging e-wallets by cards, which is the latest service that Banque Misr has been providing over the past year.
Mr. Ihab Dorra stressed the importance of Banque Misr’s participation in the Central Bank’s initiatives for the period from 2020 to 2022 by providing digital solutions and new products that include the provision of Android POS machines with a touch screen, in addition to providing the machines with easy-to-use operating software for Merchants. As well as signing partnership contracts with leading companies in the field of financial technology to support emerging companies, in addition to expanding the reach in the Egyptian market and reach the largest number of customers in all governorates.

Banque Misr has also increased points of sale to more than 400,000 operating points of sale in the local market and increased the base of e-commerce customers via the Internet to 4000 merchants by the end of 2022, as well as increasing the total collection through points of sale and e-commerce by 100% over the previous year.
