As part of Banque Misr’s continued commitment to supporting the healthcare sector and ensuring every citizen’s right to quality medical services, Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, and Mr. Hesham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the bank and the Ministry of Health and Population.
The protocol aims to fund the purchase of medical equipment and devices for five ministry-affiliated hospitals. The signing took place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, with Dr. Fatma El-Gouly, Head of Corporate Communications Sector at Banque Misr, signing on behalf of the bank, and Eng. Dr. Sherif Mostafa, Assistant Minister for National Projects, signing on behalf of the ministry, in the presence of senior leaders from both sides.
Under this protocol, Banque Misr will provide approximately EGP 67.5 million to purchase medical devices and equipment for Abbassia Fever Hospital and Abbassia Children’s Center, both under the Cairo Health Directorate; Desouk General Hospital, under the Kafr El Sheikh Health Directorate; Sporting Students Hospital, affiliated with the Health Insurance Organization in Alexandria; and Al-Qareen Central Hospital, under the Sharqia Health Directorate.
Prof. Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar expressed his deep appreciation for Banque Misr’s pioneering role in supporting Egypt’s healthcare system, emphasizing that this protocol stands as a model of constructive cooperation between the banking sector and government institutions in advancing the sustainable development goals.
He concluded his remarks by praising Banque Misr’s continuous efforts to support national projects, affirming that such strategic partnerships underscore the private sector’s essential role in Egypt’s development and achieving the Nation’s Vision 2030.
Mr. Hesham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, commended the crucial role of Ministry of Health hospitals as a cornerstone in delivering medical services to citizens. He emphasized that the bank remains committed to supporting the government’s efforts to enhance healthcare services nationwide, ensuring access to high-quality medical care for all Egyptians. He further highlighted that this support reflects Banque Misr’s leading role in social responsibility, a key driver of sustainable development, particularly given the strategic importance of the healthcare sector and the central priority of citizens’ health in Egypt’s national agenda.
