Mr. Amr Mohamed zaki Elnokaly
Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Amr ElNokaly was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer at Banque Misr in March 2026. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in the banking sector, having exhibited distinguished leadership and held a series of senior and influential positions throughout his career.
Before joining Banque Misr, Mr. Amr ElNokaly held the position Chief Wholesale Banking Officer at Bank ABC since March 2020. In this role, he oversaw the Group’s wholesale banking strategy and its execution across an extensive network spanning 31 countries. His mandate included leading strategic initiatives focused on client growth, operational efficiency, and digital transformation across the wholesale banking platform.
Beyond his executive responsibilities, Mr. ElNokaly held several high-level governance positions within the Group. He served as Chairman of the Board for both Bank ABC Islamic (Bahrain) and Bank ABC Algeria.
Mr. ElNokaly has an extensive track record in board governance, having served as a Non-Executive Board Member at Bank ABC Egypt (2019–2022 and 2023–2025) and BLOM Bank Egypt (2022–2023). He played a pivotal role in guiding both institutions through their strategic merger and ensuring its successful execution and post-merger integration.
Prior to joining Bank ABC’s head office in 2018 as Group Head of Corporate, Mr. ElNokaly spent 14 years at Mashreq Bank in Dubai. During this tenure, he led corporate and investment banking activities across diverse sectors, including Government, Energy, Manufacturing, and Multinationals. He also was appointed as Chairman of the Wholesale Banking Committee of the UAE Banks Federation from 2015 to 2017.
He began his distinguished career at Citibank in 1996, where he progressed from operations to senior relationship management positions across Cairo and Athens. His early career provided him with a solid foundation in custody, transaction services, and corporate banking.
Mr. ElNokaly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Helwan University, Cairo. His academic background is complemented by executive education from Harvard Business School in investment appraisal, risk analysis, and project finance, along with specialized professional training from London Business School.
