In a significant move aimed at easing burdens on citizens and alleviating financial strains during important social seasons, the Public Prosecution, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, signed a joint cooperation protocol with Banque Misr.

This agreement allows holders of the bank's credit cards to pay traffic fines in installments, without interest or administrative fees, thereby supporting Egyptian families during peak spending periods.

The protocol was signed by Counselor Ali Mokhtar, President at the Cairo Court of Appeal and Director of Public Prosecutions, representing the Public Prosecution, and Mr. Ahmed Issa, Deputy CEO of Banque Misr, in the presence of numerous leaders from both organizations.

The protocol targets the activation of the interest-free installment mechanism during June 2025, coinciding with Eid al-Adha, as part of efforts to ease financial pressure on citizens. The initiative is slated for reactivation in the coming August, aligning with the start of the new academic year.

The agreement also includes providing citizens with the option to pay traffic fines in installments throughout the remainder of the year at a reduced administrative fee when using Banque Misr credit cards.

Counselor Ali Mokhtar, Director of Public Prosecutions, concluded the signing ceremony by announcing that the Public Prosecution is taking concrete steps to expand this initiative through partnerships with all banks operating in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Mr. Ahmed Issa, Deputy CEO of Banque Misr, stated, "At Banque Misr, we are pleased to be part of this pioneering initiative in partnership with the Public Prosecution, which represents a tangible step towards enhancing financial inclusion and easing burdens on citizens. We believe that the role of banks extends beyond merely providing banking services; it encompasses supporting citizens in all facets of daily life.
