In the framework of its firm commitment to supporting the health sector and enhancing medical care services in Upper Egypt, Banque Misr has signed a new cooperation protocol with the Al Orman Association, allocating EGP 36 million to cover the operating costs of the Banque Misr - Shefaa Al Orman Oncology Hospital in Luxor, which provides free treatment. This support comes as a continuation of the bank's efforts to assist patients and alleviate their suffering, especially in the governorates of Upper Egypt.

The bank was keen to support the Shefaa Al Orman Hospital with an amount of EGP 300 million to complete the construction and equipping of the hospital's third phase. This phase includes various oncology treatment departments such as Emergency, Diagnostic Radiology, and specialized Outpatient Clinics, in addition to Inpatient, Physical Therapy, and other departments, all aimed at providing integrated medical and therapeutic services to cancer patients in Upper Egypt. The bank has also been committed to contributing to the treatment of thousands of patients for free over the past years.

This initiative is part of Banque Misr's pursuit to enhance its partnerships with civil society organizations, and governmental and non-governmental institutions, in support of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly the goal related to Good Health and Well-being. The bank places special emphasis on the most vulnerable groups, especially children, to provide them with integrated, high-quality, and free treatment opportunities.

Banque Misr attaches great importance to supporting social responsibility as one of the pillars of achieving sustainable development. The bank contributes to the comprehensive development of various sectors of society, including education and health, supporting the most needy villages, projects for female breadwinners and youth, and everything related to human development that reflects on supporting the economy, reducing poverty, and improving the quality of life. This is done in cooperation with non-profit civil society organizations to achieve the development they target. The bank has allocated approximately EGP 1.2 billion in the field of community development for the fiscal year 2024.

This continuous support reflects Banque Misr's role as one of the pillars of the national economy and its eagerness to contribute to community initiatives that make a real impact on citizens' lives. Renewing this cooperation this year is an extension of a decade of initiatives and partnerships between the bank and the hospital, cementing a strategic relationship aimed at advancing the health sector and achieving a healthier and more prosperous future for the people of Egypt. Banque Misr's efforts in social responsibility have been crowned with several international awards in 2025.
