Banque Misr has joined forces with the Ministry of Social Solidarity by signing a cooperation protocol aimed at addressing the needs of orphanages and elderly care facilities throughout the country. This initiative comes with a generous support package valued at up to EGP 20 million.

The protocol focuses on delivering essential resources, including furniture, to improve the living conditions in orphanages and support the elderly, ultimately ensuring a dignified life for them.

Dr. Maya Morsi, the Minister of Social Solidarity, expressed her appreciation for the partnership with Banque Misr in this initiative. She emphasized that the ministry is committed to providing social support for all vulnerable groups within Egyptian society and enhancing their overall quality of life.

The Minister of Social Solidarity highlighted the Ministry's ambitious initiative to enhance all orphanages and nursing homes. She emphasized that the children in orphanages are indeed Egypt's own and that every resident in a nursing home deserves a dignified quality of life. She commended the collaboration with Banque Misr as a vital part of this effort.

From his part, Mr. Hisham Okasha, CEO of Banque Misr, affirmed that this partnership aligns with the bank's strategy to support sustainable development through contributions to social, educational, and health sectors. He pointed out that the bank places significant importance on bolstering the social safety net, fulfilling its national duty as a financial institution devoted to fostering development and social equity, while also maintaining its prominent role in serving the Egyptian community.

Okasha praised the productive collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, emphasizing the need for a unified approach among state institutions, private sectors, and civil society organizations to achieve the objectives of Egypt's Vision 2030. This vision centers on human development and aims for comprehensive social prosperity.

It's important to highlight that Banque Misr plays an active role in a wide range of community initiatives and projects, both directly and through its non-profit foundation. These efforts span various sectors, including health, education, social solidarity, and the development of underprivileged villages, as well as slum improvement projects and other initiatives focused on enhancing human development. For the 2024 fiscal year, the bank has committed EGP 1.2 billion to support community development activities.

As one of the leading banks in social responsibility, Banque Misr continually seeks to set a benchmark that contributes to sustainable development efforts.
