The bank signed a cooperation protocol with the new Kasr El-Aini Teaching Hospital "Al-Fransawi" to contribute EGP 100 million towards the first emergency phase of the hospital's comprehensive development plan. The protocol was signed by Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby, Chairman of Banque Misr, and Prof. Mohamed Elkhosht, President of Cairo University, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Hossam Salah, Dean of Cairo Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Ehab El-Shehy, Director of New Kasr El-Aini Hospital.
This collaboration underscores Banque Misr's commitment to enhancing the medical and therapeutic services offered by this esteemed medical institution to the public. The bank aims to contribute to the comprehensive development project of Al-Fransawy Hospital, aligning it with modern international and local standards for hospitals and adhering to the comprehensive health insurance system within the framework of participating in presidential initiatives.
The protocol outlines Banque Misr's financial support for the urgent phase of the hospital's comprehensive development plan, spanning four phases over three years (urgent, short-term, long-term, and final). The initial phase includes critical elements such as the enhancement of operating rooms, care facilities, and emergency services while adhering to infection control requirements. Additionally, the plan involves the development of management and governance systems.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Elkhosht, during the protocol signing, presented the Cairo University shield to honor Prof. Mohamed El-Etreby, Chairman of Banque Misr, for his pivotal role in supporting Egypt's health sector.

Its comprehensive development plan addresses infrastructural challenges and facilities' aging issues, ensuring the hospital's efficiency and responsiveness to evolving healthcare needs. The hospital has played a critical role during the two-year isolation period amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
