In alignment with Banque Misr's commitment to supporting the state's efforts in achieving financial inclusion and in harmony with Egypt's Vision 2030 for sustainable development, the bank is offering various free benefits and promotions to its customers, with a particular focus on women and youth, the largest demographic in society. This initiative coincides with the "International Day of People of Determination," taking place from December 1 to 15, 2023, under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt. Banque Misr believes in the importance of achieving financial inclusion to empower all segments of society, providing access to diverse financial products and services tailored to their needs, including savings accounts, current accounts, payment and transfer, insurance, financing, and credit services. As part of the "International Day of People of Determination," Banque Misr introduces a range of financial products and services with complimentary benefits. This includes fee-free account openings for new customers without a minimum deposit requirement. Customers also have the opportunity to acquire a Meeza debit card at no cost. Additionally, subscribers to Banque Misr's electronic wallet, BM Wallet, during the event period can recover 20% of the initial financial transaction, subject to specified terms and conditions. The bank extends further benefits and promotions, including the waiver of fees for issuing a prepaid card "Meeza," free issuance of a prepaid card "TEENS" for individuals under 16 years old, and free youth account openings for customers aged 16 to 21 without requiring guardian approval. Banque Misr also offers a complimentary BM card for debit transactions and permits the opening of youth accounts for customers aged 21 to 35 with the issuance of a free GO card. These accounts and cards are part of the youth program available at all bank branches. Moreover, customers obtaining a personal loan/Murabaha through the bank are exempted from credit card issuance fees. Bank representatives will be present outside branches at various locations across Egypt, including universities, schools, sports clubs, youth centers, malls, and more, during the event period to showcase the bank's products and services.
Banque Misr has introduced the "Al-Momken" program to facilitate the access of customers with distinctive capabilities, "People of Determination," to banking services and products through a distinctive banking experience. This aligns with the state's direction and the Central Bank of Egypt's initiative to empower people of determination and enhance their community participation as active individuals in society, overcoming the difficulties they may face. The program includes two savings accounts, "Al-Momken Savings Account with a distinctive return," available at all bank branches across the Republic, and "Al-Momken Investment Savings Account with a distinctive return," available in Banque Misr's branch network for Islamic transactions, "Kenana." These accounts offer a return of 1% higher than the highest return for other savings accounts at Banque Misr, along with a free debit card for convenient usage at ATMs nationwide and in commercial outlets. The program also provides exemptions and discounts on certain expenses related to Islamic loan/financing products.
The "Al-Momken" program aims to ease the access of "People of Determination" to banking services and products, fostering financial inclusion. Approximately 226 branches across various governorates of the Republic are now equipped to accommodate customers of determination, offering amenities such as ramps or electric wheelchair services to ensure their convenience and accessibility.
To further facilitate the access of people of determination to banking services, Banque Misr has expanded its availability of ATMs equipped for those with motor difficulties or who are blind or visually impaired. The bank has introduced a total of approximately 209 ATMs designed for customers with motor difficulties using wheelchairs and an additional 1547 ATMs dedicated to people of determination and those with visual impairments. Banque Misr offers various facilities for people of determination, including the gradual introduction of sign language explanations for its services, catering to those with hearing disabilities. Additionally, the bank provides audio explanations of products for individuals with visual disabilities, ensuring a seamless banking experience and expedited services within branches.
The "Al-Momken" program extends its services to customers who are deaf, dumb, and hard of hearing. A dedicated team from customer service and reception has been trained to communicate using sign language in approximately 490 branches of Banque Misr across various governorates, with further branches set to follow suit. Trained personnel from customer service are available in around 321 branches throughout the country to assist customers of determination.
Banque Misr is committed to enhancing the excellence of its services to cater to the diverse needs of different segments of society. The bank actively works to overcome challenges faced by people of determination, providing them with a distinguished banking experience that integrates seamlessly into society. This commitment reflects Banque Misr's support for the state's initiatives to enhance services for this sector, integrating them more fully into society and contributing to an improved standard of living and greater financial inclusion."
