As part of Banque Misr’s pioneering support for Egyptian athletics, Banque Misr signed another sponsorship deal with the Tennis Federation for a fifth straight season. The agreement was signed between Banque Misr Chairman Mohamed El-Etreby and Egyptian Tennis Federation Chairman Ismail El-Shafei on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. The sponsorship aims to promote tennis and support outstanding players in the sport, which is an Olympic event. This comes as part of the bank’s management’s commitment to backing Egyptian sports and emphasizing the bank’s role in corporate social responsibility, which includes supporting Egyptian youth striving to raise Egypt’s stature in regional and international competitions and events.  

Banque Misr’s sponsorship of the Egyptian Tennis Federation for the fifth consecutive year comes as part of the bank’s recognition of the importance of supporting Egyptian sports, which is one of the pillars of social responsibility that the bank believes in. The bank focuses on health, education, and sports, especially youth and sports, which are some of the most important areas the bank supports, given the importance of sports and its value for young people in having “a healthy mind in a healthy body.” Since youth are the driving force behind the nation’s progress, and based on the belief in the importance of supporting youth to advance in all areas, Banque Misr seeks to set a positive example through social responsibility.

It is worth noting that Banque Misr has also sponsored the Egyptian football teams over the next three seasons until the end of the 2026 World Cup as part of the bank’s keenness to support sports. The bank has also backed the Egyptian Paralympic Committee to participate in local and international sports events in 2023-2024 to support athletes with cerebral palsy in their efforts to raise Egypt’s stature in regional and international competitions and events.

Always a pioneer at every level and the leading bank in supporting Egyptian sports, Banque Misr helped establish a charity fund to support Egyptian sports and champion Egyptian athletes, helping them achieve outstanding results in sports and raise Egypt’s flag high in Arab, African, and international competitions.  

Banque Misr works closely with the Egyptian state to effectively contribute to implementing the state’s plan to support youth, support Egyptian sports, and positively participate in social responsibility. In 2023, Banque Misr spent about EGP 1.1 billion on community development.
