On Thursday, July 28, 2022, the Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development signed a cooperation protocol with the El Sewedy Electric Foundation to offer scholarships to students to study industrial electronics. Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Banque Misr Foundation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Misr signed on behalf of the Bank of Egypt, and Eng. Ahmed El-Sewedy - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bank of Egypt and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the El Sewedy Electric Foundation, signed on behalf of the El Sewedy Foundation. The signing was attended by a group of leaders of the Central Bank of Egypt and both institutions, and the signing of this protocol was done within the framework of Banque Misr’s belief in the importance of technical education and its impact on many industrial and environmental fields and the advancement of the Egyptian economy.

The cooperation protocol with the El Sewedy Electric Corporation aims to sponsor 32 students who have obtained a preparatory certificate to study industrial electronics at a program with the study being divided into a practical part and a theoretical part - 20% theoretical studies and 80% practical training within the framework of a training plan with skill objectives in order to refine technical skills and gain more practical experience and receive the German Merit Certificate approved by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Level B. This protocol is a continuation of the cooperation that began in 2020, providing scholarships to 40 students to study technology, information and communications, and industrial applications at the El Sewedy School of Technical Education on the 10th of Ramadan City.

It is worth noting that the Banque Misr Foundation for Community Development aims to support youth skills development programs, provides training opportunities to qualify them for the labor market, and funds scholarships, whether in schools or universities, to enable young people to apply theoretical studies to working life and link training to the needs of the labor market, which will reflect positively on the advancement of society and the Egyptian economy.

The Banque Misr Foundation is working on building many partnerships with institutions that are interested in training and qualifying young people for the labor market. It finances scholarships in developed technical education centers, in which the student obtains a certificate from the Department of Productive Efficiency or the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, in addition to an accredited foreign certificate that has already benefited 75 students throughout their years of study.
