The Minister of Civil Aviation witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between EgyptAir and Banque Misr in the field of electronic collection.

Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas: EgyptAir and Banque Misr are the two great entities united by the name of the homeland and linked by a long history, and it is a continuation of the vision of the pioneer of the national economy "Talaat Harb".

Al-Etreby: Major national institutions cooperate to provide the best services to their customers, and the protocol offers many privileges to Banque Misr customers traveling on EgyptAir lines.

Lieutenant General Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Minister of Civil Aviation, made this statement during the signing ceremony of the cooperation protocol between EgyptAir Airlines and Banque Misr, in the presence of Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Misr and President of the Federation of Egyptian Banks, Eng. Yehia Zakaria, Chairman of the Holding Company for EgyptAir; and a group of leaders from EgyptAir and Banque Misr; as part of the ministry's strategy to develop Egyptian aviation. He expressed appreciation for the signing of the protocol, which occurred within the context of close cooperation between the two great entities united by the name of the homeland and linked by a long history, and it is a continuation of the vision of the pioneer of the national economy, Talaat Harb Pasha, who had the idea to establish Banque Misr in 1920 and EgyptAir in 1932. He added that the Ministry of Civil Aviation and its subsidiaries spare no effort in coordinating with all state institutions in various fields to provide an integrated service to their customers. His Excellency explained that coordination is currently underway between the national company EgyptAir and Banque Misr to achieve more commercial cooperation in the upcoming period and that this strengthens the desire of two of the largest economic entities to offer more electronic services between the aviation sector and the banking industry.

The protocol was signed on both sides by Pilot Ehab El-Tahtawy, President of EgyptAir Airlines, and Mr. Akef El-Maghraby, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Misr.

Mr. Mohamed El-Etreby, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Banque Misr, stated that this signature is an expansion of Banque Misr's achievements in the field of electronic payments and support for digital transformation through the provision of electronic solutions to facilitate customers, thereby contributing more to the provision of banking and financial services in an efficient and advanced manner. With a total of 440,000 POS terminals, over 2,000 websites, 1.5 million electronic wallets, and over 2 million rapid response code transactions, Banque Misr grew its electronic payment acceptance portfolio by 91% in 2022. This included increases of 79% and 100% for websites and 146% for the rapid response code, respectively. The bank has also expanded in providing digital services to its customers, in addition to launching Egypt's first digital bank, Banque Misr has also entered into several agreements and partnerships that promote electronic payment solutions to boost financial inclusion across all economic sectors and facilitate the transition to a cashless society.

According to EgyptAir Holding Company Chairman Eng. Yehia Zakaria, the partnership's primary goal is to improve both the travel and marketing experiences of existing and future EgyptAir consumers, in addition to Installments for airline tickets at special prices through the EgyptAir website, this contributes to the highest level of luxury and comfort and makes use of the most advanced technological means at electronic points of sale.

Notably, the cooperation protocol between Banque Misr and EgyptAir in the field of electronic payments enables the provision of a variety of services to customers, including Electronic collection through all the different collection channels "Electronic Points of Sale (P.O.S) - Website"; Where Banque Misr is linked to the electronic platform of EgyptAir Airlines, allowing access to the site from anywhere, whether from inside Egypt or from abroad; and paying the due values, while providing POS machines from Banque Misr with the most advanced electronic point-of-sale technology, which is distinguished by rapid data downloading, for each of the company's offices located in the Republic, and enabling the capacity to send a Payment Link to customers' e-mails for payment on the EgyptAir website. The protocol also enables Banque Misr customers with Banque Misr credit cards to receive a variety of special offers, including the ability to pay for airline tickets in installments at varying interest rates, whether through EgyptAir's electronic platform or any of the company's offices within Egypt. The protocol also provides numerous discounts and perks for major BM VIP clients, such as a 10% discount on airline ticket prices, a 25% discount on excess baggage weight fees, and a 10% discount on upgrading from economy class to business class on all international flights booked through EgyptAir offices nationwide.
