Banque Misr Presents New Offerings and Privileges on the Occasion of “Farmers Day” for Boosting Financial Inclusion, Under the Auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt

Sep 04, 2021 12:00 AM
In enhancing state efforts towards financial inclusion, Banque Misr is set to partake in the financial inclusion event, taking place from 1st – 15th September 2021, in celebration of “Farmers Day”, under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt. This is in line with the Bank’s firm belief in the importance of financial inclusion, which aims to include all social segments and to enable them to access financial products and services that fulfil their requirements. These include savings accounts, current accounts, payment and transfer services, insurance, financing and credit. On this occasion, the Bank presented various free offers and privileges to serve all its customers.

Worth noting is that said offers include opening accounts for new customers on a free-of-charge basis and without a minimum limit, issuing Meeza debit card or Classic debit card for free, exempting customers under 16 years of age from the charges of the pre-paid youth card; and opening accounts and issuing debit cards for customers between 16 to 30 years of age under the youth program for free. Furthermore, customers between 21 and 30 years of age are able to acquire a credit card – whose category is determined according to the credit limit granted to the customer, subject to the Bank’s terms and conditions. As for BM Wallet customers, a 20% cash back is offered from the first financial transaction, subject the applicable terms and conditions. Through these events, the Bank is keen on promoting its products – under the umbrella of financial inclusion – and reaching out to remote and marginalized locations on the periphery of metro areas, where there are a lack of banking and financial service providers.

Banque Misr also supports state efforts in the field of financial inclusion, by partaking in initiatives and protocols that serve members of the community; especially those launched by the CBE – foremost of which are financial inclusion campaigns that seek to reach the largest number of citizens and all social segments in order to incorporate them into the formal economy. This is in addition to campaigns that support women and micro-project entrepreneurs in a manner that contributes to the Egyptian economy and to improving individual standards of living.

The Bank also undertakes its own efforts to spread awareness of financial inclusion, financial culture, the introduction of banking products and services to university and school students and educational/awareness programs. These include supporting SMEs through the “Nilepreneurs” initiatives under the sponsorship of the CBE, which aims to assist young entrepreneurs and start-ups in various economic sectors.
