Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Board Member, Banque Misr
Mr. Ahmed Issa joined Banque Misr in September 2024 as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Executive Board Member, bringing around 30 years of banking experience. Ahmed Issa was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of CI Capital’s Board of Directors, representing Banque Misr in October 2024. Prior to this post, Mr. Issa held the esteemed position of Minister of Tourism and Antiquities in Egypt from August 2022 to July 2024.
Mr. Issa began working in the banking industry 1993 at Commercial International Bank (CIB) and transitioned to Corporate and Investment Banking division from 1994 to 2001. He held prominent roles, including serving as the Chief Executive Officer of Retail Banking at Commercial International Bank (CIB), where he oversaw consumer and business banking services. Additionally, he held positions as the Head of Strategic Planning, the Head of Financial Institutions Group within the CIB Corporate Banking Division, and served as the Group Chief Financial Officer at Commercial International Bank (CIB).
In addition, Mr. Issa served as the first Head of Research at CIBC, Managing Director of CI Capital Investment Banking, Chairman of CORPLEASE, and Chairman of Falcon Group.
He was also a Board Member of the Civil Aviation Finance Holding Company. Moreover, he chaired the Banking Committee and was elected Board Member at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt.
Mr. Issa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ain Shams University and a Master's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Corporate Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the United States of America. He has also completed various training programs at prestigious institutions, including the Harvard Institute for International Development, where he focused on investment evaluation and management, in addition to a Senior Leadership Course at the University of London.
